Wedding Invitation Design with a travel theme featuring antique maps and custom watercolor illustration

An invitation suite inspired by the traveling couple. This custom designed wedding invitation ensemble features a hand-painted custom crest complete with illustrations depicting traveling motifs and the couples sweet pooch!  Calligraphy details enhance the antique mood the couple wanted to bring through while foil accents on the uniquely designed vellum invitation backers create a gorgeous texture and unique layered effect. Additional light hearted fun was interwoven by adding illustrations to the guests reply card in place of the meal selections. Their wedding venue was the gorgeous Boston Public Library in Boston, Massachusetts.

Custom Crest Design

Custom crest designs are some of my favorite ways to incorporate the couples unique style and love story! This couple's love of travel was so inspiring to create a beautiful crest that perfectly captured their taste for adventure, complete with their side kick pooch!

Invitation

This invitation included a unique design utilizing vintage maps as an assembly piece to hold the contents of the suite together. The maps were "sandwiched" in-between the front and back of the invitation to fold over and be tied together with ribbon.

Envelopes

The envelopes for this suite were lined with vintage map reproductions and sealed with a compass wax seal. Finished with custom calligrpahy addressing and hand selected vintage stamps that reflected the travel theme. It's all in the details!

Thanks for going behind the scenes with me on this wedding invitation design friends!

See you next time!
