When I first met Jessica and Andrew for their design consultation, I knew right away, I was going to like this girl. Her main concern? Paper! Now thats a girl after my own heart! She wanted the paper to really drive the invitation suite, using elegant paper types like silk and metallics to set the mood of what their guest can expect from their Cary, North Carolina wedding. Jessica was seriously plucked straight from one of my dream client dreams! The moment I showed her all the shimmery papers and silk option her eyes lit up and she couldn’t pick just one paper to go with, so in true Blush and Blue Designs fashion, I of course told her lets mix them all together! The end result was a gorgeously pink and peach toned suite complete with hand drawn flower elements, creating the perfect mix of elegance and soft texture.
The main invitation was printed on Silk paper that has a gorgeous iridescent and soft touch quality. Spot calligraphy was used for the couples names and the venue location. A hand drawn duogram was created with the couples initials and botanical drawings of roses and vines.
The reception card featured another botanical drawing and spot calligraphy for “Reception”. Keeping with our metallic theme, we used a soft peach metallic paper to bring in more of the color palette.
The response card was also a metallic paper type and matched the response envelopes, which were all handmade to include a nice pointed flap.
Envelope liners throughout featured simple botanical line drawings.
The entire suite was tied together using a gorgeous hand dyed peach silk ribbon.
Of course, no suite would be complete without formal calligraphy envelope addressing.
I also had the wonderful opportunity of working with Jessica’s mother to create a gorgeous invitation for her bridal shower. We were able to use the same drawings from her main invitation to make this invitation match the look of her initial wedding invitations. Creating a lovely cohesive feeling.
For these invitations we opted for a gorgeous handmade lightly deckled paper and pink envelopes.
Other elements created for Jessica and Andrew’s wedding included a large printed seating chart, custom table numbers, food stations signs, a custom drink sign and welcome signs for both the ceremony and reception. Southern Soirée was on top of it, together we helped Jessica and Andrew relax the week of their wedding, by seamlessly taking care of coordinating all of their day-of-signage. It really was a smooth team effort to make these last details come together.
However I’m a goof, and totally forgot to take pictures of any of these elements before they left my studio. So you will just have to imagine what a fun drink sign she had featuring a illustration of their signature drink— Irish coffee with baileys!
Join me in wishing the best of luck to this amazing couple as they begin their new life together!
